Lithuania is a Central European country, the largest of the three Baltic nations (comparing to Latvia and Estonia). It is a geographical centre of Europe at 65,300 sq. km (25,206 sq. mi.), 70% of its lowland plains and hilly uplands are arable land and 27.6% - forested. Lithuania is bigger than Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands or Switzerland. The country is bordered by the Baltic Sea 99km, and four countries, namely Belarus 502km, Latvia 453km, Kaliningrad (technically part of Russia) 227km, Poland 91km.
